Dance in the Dark

I like joining contests because I think these are good ways for artists to experiment and exercise their capabilities.. This is definitely different from the usual artworks that I make..

For the contest, I chose to do the song Dance in the Dark by Lady Gaga

Dance in the Dark is one of Lady Gaga's deepest and darkest songs, it tells of the story of a woman who has issues about herself as she is in abusive relationship with a man.. she is now uncomfortable of herself and cannot make love with the lights on, she can only do it in the dark..

I really like Gaga's usage of words in this song..her usage of symbolism is amazing as always. I really felt the sadness that the woman was possessing while still enjoying with the music itself. Dance in the Dark isn't just any other song as it deals with serious topics such as abuse and low self-esteem..

This is definitely my darkest work so far.. I tried to express the woman's sadness more by giving the background it's broken look.. symbolizing how broken the woman's world is.. how she doesn't feel good about herself anymore.. I also took emphasis on how she is alone in this world that she doesn't have anyone to comfort her with.
